Streaming via NVENC is generally recommended over x264 for most users, as it offloads the encoding process to the GPU, resulting in better performance and lower impact on the CPU. NVENC also typically provides better quality at lower bitrates compared to x264. However, x264 may be preferred for users who have a powerful CPU and want more control over the encoding settings for specific streaming requirements. Ultimately, the choice between NVENC and x264 depends on the user's hardware capabilities and streaming needs. **

Streaming with NVENC new is generally recommended over x264 for most users due to its lower impact on CPU usage and better performance in terms of encoding speed. NVENC new utilizes the dedicated hardware encoder on NVIDIA GPUs to offload the encoding process from the CPU, resulting in smoother streaming and gameplay. However, x264 may still be preferred by some users who prioritize higher quality encoding and have a powerful CPU to handle the workload. Ultimately, the choice between NVENC new and x264 depends on individual preferences and hardware capabilities. **

x264 is a software-based video encoding library that is commonly used in OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) for live streaming and recording. It is a popular choice for encoding video because it provides a good balance between video quality and CPU usage. In OBS, x264 allows users to encode their video in real-time, making it suitable for streaming to platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook Live. Users can adjust the x264 settings in OBS to optimize video quality and performance based on their hardware and network capabilities. **

x264 is a popular video codec used for encoding video files. It is known for its high video quality and compression efficiency, making it a preferred choice for many video encoding applications. x264 is capable of producing high-quality video output with smaller file sizes compared to other codecs, making it ideal for streaming and sharing videos online. Its advanced encoding techniques allow for better preservation of details and colors in the video, resulting in a visually pleasing viewing experience. **

The x264 setting that is closest to CQP 21 is the CRF (Constant Rate Factor) setting with a value of 21. CRF is similar to CQP in that it allows for a constant quality level, but it does so by adjusting the bitrate dynamically based on the complexity of the video content. Setting the CRF value to 21 will result in a similar quality level to CQP 21, as it will target a similar level of perceptual quality while adjusting the bitrate as needed. **

The choice between x264 and NVENC depends on the specific use case and requirements. x264 is a software encoder that provides high-quality encoding but can be more CPU-intensive. NVENC, on the other hand, is a hardware encoder provided by NVIDIA that offloads the encoding process to the GPU, resulting in lower CPU usage. NVENC is generally preferred for real-time streaming and gaming applications where CPU resources need to be preserved for other tasks, while x264 may be preferred for offline encoding where quality is the primary concern. Ultimately, the better encoder will depend on the specific needs of the user. **

I prefer x264 encoder because it is a widely used and highly efficient open-source encoder that provides excellent video quality and compression. It has been around for a long time and has a proven track record of performance and reliability. While AMD Encoder 2 may have its advantages, I find x264 to be a more versatile and dependable option for my encoding needs. **

For Streamlabs, it is recommended to use NVENC New encoder if you have a compatible NVIDIA graphics card. NVENC New utilizes the GPU to handle the encoding process, resulting in better performance and lower CPU usage compared to x264. However, if you do not have a compatible NVIDIA graphics card, x264 is a good alternative as it relies on the CPU for encoding. Ultimately, the choice between the two encoders depends on your hardware configuration and personal preference. **
